You are first introduced to crushed red fruit, with plum skin with a hint of brown sugar coming forward as the aroma evolves. On first taste the entrance is soft and rich with toasted oak, blueberries and a touch of rose water. The mouthfeel is full with a medium long finish.

 The 2016 Peregrine Pinot Noir is our first bottling of the wine since 2009, ten years ago! Typical of wines from Santa Rita Hills, it displays lovely dark briary fruit and a lush mouthfeel with slightly chewy tannins that are persistent thru the finish. The aromatics express notes of raspberry truffles and liquorice that intermingles with a touch of cedar. The wine’s herbal flavors of sage and eucalyptus harmonize with blackberry thru the long lived finish.

The 2016 Wolf Run Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon is resplendent with ripe plum and bittersweet chocolate leaping from the glass. A touch of dried sage and candied pecans add additional complexity to this voluptuous wine. On first impression, the texture is soft with velvety tannins that build for a backbone structure that carries the flavors to a long finish. Blackberry and cassis combine with the plum and herb suggesting a wonderful accompaniment to grilled meat rubbed with middle eastern brown spices. Expect this well proportioned wine to improve over the next 10 years.

Deep garnet color portends the effusive rich aromas that leap from the glass. Ripe black cherry, sandalwood and a hint of red apple are the primary aromas, with an underbelly of lees character providing another level of complexity.
Supple mouth filling entrance that embraces you with incredible richness, all balanced with plum skin astringency and acidity. Black cherry, plum and a touch of brioche on the finish completes this hedonistic wine.
Food Pairing
Pinot Noir is a perfectly suited wine to pair with a wide variety of foods because of the bright acidity. This wine offers complexity and rich fruit to go along with that acidity. It pairs well with Salmon off the grill or braised Duck Breast. Because of the depth of flavor with this particular bottling, it would also be perfect with Braised Short Ribs with an Asian Spice accent.

The blend is composed of 75% Grenache and 25% Cinsault. Vibrant and fresh, aromas of white peach and passion fruit emerge from the glass with a hint of lavender to remind us of its home by the sea. As with previous vintages, the mouth is filled with delicate raspberry and wild strawberry. The hallmark minerality of the wine is persistent thru the lively finish. Crisp and lovely, the striking acidity makes it another perfect example of why all others try to imitate the Rosés of Provence!
